Recent Events involving members:
RYA Northern Zone Squad championships at Derwent Res: A big turnout of 37 Toppers and our lads did well with Callum 6th and James 22nd. Stand out performance was by Will Hide and Emma Clayton who won in the Mirror fleet. They were also 2nd in the Mirror Open at Beaver SC a couple of weeks later, so well done to you both.
Vortex Inlands at Rutland - Shock news - Phil didn't win. Read all about it here.
Toppers at Scaling Dam: Another top result for Callum in second, and James Tulley again improving with two top ten results and getting closer to the leading pack all the time. More details here.
RS 200 Inlands : Chris and Laura won the first race from 65 other boats in this hotly contested event. Andrew and Eve were also sailing well and getting into the top 1/3 of the fleet before the strong wind and biting cold eventually took its toll and our heroes / heroins packed up a race early but still managed an excellent 7th overall for Chris & Laura with Andrew & Eve in the top half at 32nd. Both great performances in an uber competitive fleet.
RS500 Inlands Report. Well done Mike and Meg ..that's how to do it!
Contender Open Report
Topper Opens at Pennine and Burton. Well done Callum for winning at Pennine, and winning again at Burton (there's clearly no stopping him sometimes)! Georgie and the two James' all put in improved performances and will soon be challenging for top results. Report here.
Vortex Nationals - Yachts & Yachting report with photos:
Congratulations: Well done to Luke Cowling who won the Topper Northern Championships with a superb performance. Callum Escritt was a great second in the same Northerns. With James Tulley also learning all the time and the McKenzies and others showing promise, increasing turnouts at the club and great racing, Yorkshire Dales SC are really coming on in the Topper world.
